The Greatest Game on Ice

QUEST FOR THE CUP!

Ladies & Gentlemen of the Greatest Game On Ice:
We are officially at 24 real hockey fans. Lets make it 25 and beyond! The NHL is moving at a speedy pace in the beginning of the season due to the Olympic break in February. Teams that should likely be on a roll right now are sliding backwards and teams that you don't expect are moving ahead. Since we only have one west coast fan with us right now I'll give you a breakdown of the east. The eight teams leading right now are 1) Pittsburgh 16pts, 2) Buffalo 11pts, 3) Washington 10pts, 4) NYR 14pts, 5) Ottowa 10pts, 6) Atlanta 9pts, 7) New Jersey 8pts, 8) Boston 8pts. The Rangers took off to start the season with 7 wins and Buffalo is surprising people staying towards the top. The entire Southeast division is not playing the way they should with the Caps leading that division 1 point ahead of second place Atlanta who they will play tonight to see who keeps or takes the lead in that division. The Penguins leading defenseman Sergei Gonchar is out for 4-6 weeks with a broken wrist that could spell trouble for the Penguins blue line during the PP and at clutch times during the game. We'll see what the next month holds!
On a final note I do apologize for not being able to keep up with the site as much as I should be right now due to a lack of internet at home. I ask you all to please continue to contribute to keep the site alive while I work on my dial up situation. Remember if you have an iPhone you can go to the mobile site which is realhockeyfans.ning.com/m. You can contribute photos, video forums and more. I continue to thank you all for being Real Hockey Fans and I hope you are enjoying a fun and interesting beginning start to this fantastic 2009-2010 season!!

I have recruited another true Blue. So I will give the breakdown for the Western Conference. 1) Colorado holding strong with 22pts, 2) San Jose 21pts, 3) Chicago 17pts, 4) Los Angeles 20pts, 5) Phenoix 18pts, 6) Vancouver 18pts, 7) Dallas 17pts, 8) Calgary 15 pts. And the Blues are way down in the 13 spot with 11 pts. We usually start off slow so be prepared to see some of the hockey we played last half of last season.
